Poston & Associates picked for outreach project

 Reporter - Albuquerque Business First

An Albuquerque area public relations firm has been chosen to do the Native American outreach effort for the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange and its prime marketing contractor.

Poston & Associates LLC was named by BVK to do the outreach effort, said BVK Managing Partner Joel English.

Poston will replace G+G Advertising, another local firm, which BVK dumped in August as a subcontractor on the exchange project.

BVK has the $7 million contract to market the exchange through Dec. 31, 2015. One of its partners on the projects is Cooney, Watson and Associates, Inc. of Albuquerque.

Poston is headquartered on Sandia Pueblo in Bernalillo and has 25 years experience in working with federal, state, tribal and local entities, according to its website. It has more than 30 clients, including the American Indian Graduate Center, American Congress of American Indians, Pueblo of Santa Clara, Indian Health Service, Wal-Mart and the National Indian Gaming Association.

G+G Vice President Gerald Gray said his firm had been part of BVK’s proposal to win the exchange’s marketing and advertising contract and that BVK had “shafted” his firm in dumping it.
