-Opponents of President Obama's healthcare law have outspent supporters by more than 5-1 when it comes to television ads, according to a new analysis.
Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group found that since March 2010, when the Affordable Care Act passed, ObamaCare critics have spent $400 million on television spots compared with supporters' $75 million.
The $400 million was spent mostly by Republican outside groups in races for 16 different types of federal, state and local political office. Senate races saw the most spending, followed by House races.
Ads supporting healthcare reform, meanwhile, only appeared during campaigns for eight types of political office.
The largest pro-ObamaCare ad buyer was the federal Health department in a nonpolitical education campaign.
Kantar Media noted that "Democratic candidates for office — including President Obama himself — have spent comparably little on campaign and issue advertisement about the law."
Election watchers expect ObamaCare to play a large role in the 2014 midterm elections.
Both Republicans and Democrats are gearing up to use the issue to sway voters, which will likely increase the advertisement spending in both columns.
