My name is Phillip and I am working as a dental Hygienist in NM. I have been providing dental hygiene services to the under insured and uninsured children and adults in NM for the last 28 years. Access to care is not just about providing dental services to remote rural areas of NM but it also encompasses the access to care in metropolitan areas where dental care is limited to those with enough money or the right kind of dental insurance that dentists are willing to accept. With our current economic situation, most New Mexicans that have dental insurance don't even have the extra cash to pay the deductible and co-pay to get services done. In reality all of NM is in need of access to quality, affordable dental care. I urge you to support dental therapy so that we can take care of NM dental needs.
